How Essential to have happy mood in the morning

In the competitive life of today ,when parents as well children are adjusting themselves with the competitive environment , their mental condition is always tense mode and from the morning itself they have frowning face and after reaching at their works , it looks as of working in mad  house. Throughout the day, your mental state is important, which regulates your conduct and your actions are regulated accordingly. Activities throughout the day have different impact in our conscious and subconscious mind. With a span of time, our mental tendencies get matured based on every day mood and experiences.

Recently there was an article in one of the leading newspaper, on impact of mood which we are having in the morning hour, on our daily activities and work performance. Or mind is in continuous impacted by following factors till we reach to our office:

  • When you leave your bed :
  • Mood of your life partner at the time of morning tea
  • Time of  leaving  to your office – in time or delayed
  • Traffic congestion while traveling to works
  • Meeting with a person to whom you despise 
  • Call from your boss on incomplete work
  • Etc etc

The above are the factors, which influence our mood and you, might have observed that one of the above-mentioned factors is sufficient to spoil your mood when you reach at your works.

As per that news article, Roth bard and Stephanie Wilk, a professor at Fisher School of Business at Ohio State University, found that:

    • Both positive and negative moods affect employee productivity, but the positive moods are more potent.
    • Mood that brings you to work has a stronger effect on day’s mood and work performance than the mood changes at work place.
    • Start of the day positive moods spills over and effects positive employee mood during the day.

Story: A story reflecting consequence of bad mood is as under:

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 5-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of expensive gold wrapping paper.  Money was tight, and he became even more upset when the child pasted the gold paper to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." The father was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. He spoke to her in a harsh manner, "Don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside the package?" The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Daddy, it's not empty. I blew kisses into it until it was full." The father was crushed.... He fell on his knees and put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger....

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it is told that the father kept that gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. In addition, whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems, he would open the box, take out an imaginary kiss, and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

Really, each of us as human beings have been given a golden box filled with
Unconditional love and kisses from our children, family and friends. There is no other more precious possession anyone could hold.

2) Have breakfast of your choice: Food is also an ingredient which regulates your mood. It is experienced that eating breakfast of your choice in the morning hour before going to works has tremendous impact on your mental status as by eating food of your choice, hormonal secretion is conducive to your mood. 

4) Play songs of your choice while traveling and in office: Songs of choice also influence in the mental status. You might have experienced that when ever you listen the song of your time you get reminded of activities which you have done during that time. Moreover , sitar , Gazal etc have otherwise also have soothing effect on your mind  as they send positive signals to your mind , which helps in stabilizing your mind .

5) Have positive attitude: It is the panacea of all the problems. Having positive mental attitude is helpful to you any day and time, because Positive Mental attitude acts as filter to your mind. As any negative signal intends to get into your mind, this filter does not allow it to enter and rather it tries to convert the same into a positive one depending upon severity of the negativity. It depends upon threshold of positively of your mind.

6) Before leaving home and reaching at works smile for a moment: Smile is the shortest distance between individual. One smile can make many friends, whereas frowning face always gets despised. A smile is generated by stretching lips a bit. Try to understand the process – it is very simple but we make it very costly and in turn our moods have reflection of the same. Therefore, make smile as practice before leaving home and reaching office. I have experienced that smile while leaving home makes me happy throughout the day.
